Thank you for another year of knitlicious fun!
I have received many notes and pictures of gifts for the Holiday Season of 08. Cannot wait to see what you will do for 09!
Please check out Ravelry, http://ravelry.com for a compilation of
knit-crochet and yarn. COTW:knit and Peaches & Creme™ have groups on Ravelry for you to post pictures of projects, get involved with charity knitting and Friendship Scarves.
We consider this your ezine and want to hear from you. We are still changing and tweeking our Ezine, to suit our readers.
We are working several months in advance to bring you interesting information that is pertinent to your knitting. Research on yarns, trends, colors and publications brought to your home via the internet. Resources easily ordered from online, from yarns, books, tools and stuff you gotta have, balled up into one easy to read newsletter dedicated to the knitter of cloths and home accessories.
Many people ask what I do with all my knitted samples. I mentor a group of children ages 12-19 at a private school. With support from Needle Arts Mentoring Program, a project of The Helping Hands Foundation, we teach knitting but it's a lot more than just stitches. Each group of children learn stitches while making "cloths" to give to the needy. Some in forms of bath kits for homeless shelters, a "pamper me"™ bath kit for women with breast cancer, lots of squares stitched together to create afghans for orphanages in Mexico and Africa. Students learn more than knitting skills but develop skills that they will be able to use for a lifetime. They are involved with community service and learning the value of helping others by creating for those in need. I am so fortunate to be able to work with the kids and get them involved in doing something positive. Several of our students go down to the orphanages we donate to and come back with a changed attitude and heart.
